Message from the Senior Leadership Team
|
On behalf of our entire school community, you are very welcome to our website. St. Joseph’s Patrician College was founded by the Patrician Brothers in 1862 at the request of the Bishop of Galway at the time. It was known locally as the Bishop’s school hence the name ‘The Bish’. We are now part of the Le Chéile Schools Trust whose message of ‘Welcome, Witness, Wisdom’ is very evident in our day to day workings. This message is also on display in our school motto of ‘Love God, work hard and take care of one another’. With a student population of over 790 students, St. Joseph’s Patrician College offers a wide range of subjects at Junior and Senior Cycle. There is a strong academic emphasis where students are encouraged to achieve the highest academic standards. We also have a proud tradition of extracurricular opportunities in a wide variety of sport and cultural activities. Our vision is to create a vibrant and inclusive environment where the whole school community is empowered to embrace learning, live with integrity, lead with compassion, and make a positive impact in a diverse world. We strive to foster an environment of respect, allowing students to grow, reach their full potential, and achieve educational excellence, guided by Catholic values while respecting all faiths and none. Parents subscribe to the Christian/Catholic philosophy of the school when they choose to send their children to the College. Please enjoy browsing our website and feel free to get in touch if you require further information.
