Bish Debating Society
There is debating every Monday lunchtime open to all students. This is done in the style of the ‘Junior Mace’ competition with people only finding out the side of the debate and motion 15 minutes before the debate begins. This style of debate is great training in public speaking and being able to think on your feet. Debaters take part in local and national competitions as well as friendly debates with other Galway schools. Debating develops skills vital for the modern world and is a real asset for anyone considering a career in law, journalism, broadcasting, education or business.
